What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative and transformative process that helps individuals or groups achieve their personal or professional goals. It involves a skilled coach who provides a safe space, support, and accountability to facilitate growth and development. Coaching is a learning and development activity that focuses on the agenda of the client. The essence of coaching is raising awareness of the client to unlock potential and improve different aspects of their life. At Untethered we follow the Co-Active model of coaching created and taught by the Co-Active Coaching Training Institute. This model and institute is certified by the International Coaching Federation. At Untethered we use coaching for individuals with different age groups, cultural backgrounds, and development agendas.

How can coaching help me?
Coaching offers numerous benefits, including enhanced self-awareness, improved goal-setting and achievement, increased self-esteem and self-confidence, enhanced problem-solving skills, improved leadership skills. It helps you connects with your strengths, understand your values and priorities in life in order to make informative decisions that aligns with who you are. Through coaching you can choose to work on your career, leadership skills, health & wellness, relationships, and other aspects of your life.

How long does a coaching engagement typically last?
The coaching journey varies depending on the individual’s needs and goals. It can range from 3 months to 6 months or up to 12 months. Sessions usually are spaced out from 2 to 3 weeks. This is discussed and agreed on between the coach and the client.

How long is each coaching session?
Coaching sessions are around 1 hour except for the first session “Discovery Session” which lasts for 2 hours.

Is coaching confidential?
Yes. The coaching relationship is confidential and follows a code of ethics. This relationship is built on mutual trust and respect of confidentiality. No confidential information shared in the sessions will be discussed with anyone outside the session. The coach will not share sensitive information without written approval.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching focuses on personal or professional growth and goal achievement. It is present and future oriented and action-driven, supporting individuals identify their strengths, clarify their values, set specific goals and develop strategies to overcome obstacles. Coaching is for individuals who are functioning well and want to enhance their skill and make positive changes in their lives. Therapy addresses mental, emotional, and psychological issues. It is often focused on past experiences, traumas, and deeply rooted patterns to promote healing and mental wellbeing. It is important to note that coaching and therapy can complement each other, and individuals may choose to engage in both depending on their needs and goals.
